IMMUNE CHECKPOINT INHIBITORS

Global Longitudinal Strain and Cardiac Events in Patients With Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor–Related Myocarditis

In a retrospective analysis of the use of global longitudinal strain (GLS) for detection and risk stratification of myocarditis associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy, investigators found that GLS decreases with ICI-related myocarditis and is lower among patients with myocarditis presenting with either a preserved or reduced ejection fraction, versus patients who did not experience myocarditis.
